GETTING THERE: Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the ideal airport for boarding the Disney Wish at Port Canaveral because it requires the shortest travel time - plus Disney provides transportation to the port. You may also fly into Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) or Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB).

You can use taxi services to travel to and from Port Canaveral and around your ports of call or take advantage of the premium ground transfers offered by Disney at an additional cost.

LANGUAGE: English is the primary language spoken aboard the Disney Wish and in the Bahamas. However, Disney Cruise Line employees come from all around the world and speak many different languages. In the Bahamas, many people speak a Creole-infused version of English, making Bahamian Creole and Haitian

Creole the second and third most popular languages.

CLIMATE: The Bahamas offers a subtropical climate with warm, humid temperatures all year. Temperatures usually stay around 70°F to 80°F and rarely dip below 60°F or rise above 90°F. May through October are considered the summer months, bringing warmer temperatures and higher chances for hurricanes. Tropical storms and hurricanes are most likely to occur between August and November.

MONEY/CURRENCY (CREDIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS, TIPPING, ATMS):

The Bahamian dollar is the Bahamas’ official currency. The U.S. dollar is widely used throughout the country as well. Nassau offers many ATMs and multiple currency exchange establishments should you need them. Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards are widely accepted at stores and restaurants, but cash is preferred and often required for most purchases from locals. Be sure to notify your bank and card companies that you are traveling to avoid unnecessary limitations.

While aboard the Disney Wish, you can use your Key to the World card or a credit card for purchases. On Castaway Cay, you can use your Key to the World card.

It is common to tip 10%-15% for services in the Bahamas. Depending on the transaction type, you can tip with a card or cash.

ELECTRICITY: Plugs on the Disney Wish are standard for North America with a voltage of 110V and frequency of 60Hz. Therefore, visitors from Canada and the United States don’t need to use a converter.
