Whether it is your first time at Disney World, or you are a seasoned Disney veteran, the child-like excitement hits everyone the moment they step into Magic Kingdom.
To help prepare you for your upcoming visit to Magic Kingdom, I have put together a list of snack options available at the park. Disney food has its own following and leaves Disney guests admitting that they visit the parks just for their favorite snacks. Here are your snack options while at Magic Kingdom.
Dole Whip
This cool pineapple treat started being sold in the parks in 1986. It grew in popularity so fast that it has arguably become the most iconic Disney snack. Not only is this snack gluten-free but this snack also went completely vegan in 2013 (it previously had dairy) so everyone could have the chance to enjoy this delicious snack. You can find Dole Whip at one location in Magic Kingdom. It is sold at Aloha Isle Refreshments, next to the Enchanted Tiki Room in Adventureland.
Pro Tip: As you are making your way to Aloha Isle Refreshments, use Mobile Order on your My Disney Experience App to preorder your Dole Whip. This will reduce your waiting time and help you avoid standing in line!
Popcorn Cart
Sweet treats are not the only snack you will find in Adventureland, if you are in the mood for a salty treat, check out the popcorn carts in Adventureland, Main Street, USA, in front of Cinderella’s Castle, Tomorrowland, Liberty Square, and Frontierland. There are plenty of places to get your popcorn craving fulfilled over, and over again! This treat is an original to the Disney brand and has been sold to guests since Disneyland’s opening July 7, 1955. Even Walt could be seen snacking on the salty goodness in the famous Disneyland After Dark special. It is so popular that Disney sells 185,000 pounds of popcorn every year and introduced collectible popcorn buckets in 2015. These popcorn buckets have become extremely popular and are even refillable!
Pro Tip: A fantastic way to save money on snacks is to buy a refillable popcorn bucket and get $2.25 buttery popcorn refills at ANY park! Plus, it is also environmentally friendly!
Mickey Bar Most days at Magic Kingdom are spent under the Florida sun which can leave guests looking for ways to cool down. If the fruity Dole Whip is not your thing (or even if it is), try cooling off with this next iconic treat, a Mickey Bar. Surprisingly not an original Disney Park treat, this chocolate-coated ice cream bar became available in 1985 with help from Nestle. In the 1990s, this ice cream bar got its famous Mickey Mouse shape. Do not forget to grab your napkins if you are enjoying this sweet treat on a hot Florida day because after your first bite, Mickey melts fast!
Pro Tip: A version of Mickey Bars can be found in grocery stores so you can enjoy this iconic treat at home! The ice cream bars were released in stores in 2019 for Mickey’s 90th birthday.
Other Notable Snacks
We cannot talk about Disney snacks without mentioning churros and the Mickey pretzel. To find the best pretzel at Magic Kingdom, check out The Lunching Pad within Tomorrowland to find a delectable, warm, cream cheese-filled pretzel. Add a 12-inch cinnamon churro for your sweet fix from either Frontierland or Tomorrowland.
Pro Tip: The Mickey pretzel and churros are our favorite grab-and-go snacks. They are easy for anyone to enjoy while walking to your next attraction -- or even waiting in line!
With all the food options available at Disney, I hope that this snack list and the pro snack tips will help with your planning process for your next Magic Kingdom visit.
