GETTING THERE: Caribbean Ocean cruises depart from different ports, but one of the most popular ports from which to depart is Port Canaveral, located approximately 50 miles outside of Orlando Airport (MCO) in Florida. If you are flying or traveling a great distance to get to your cruise, it is recommended you arrive at least the day before your departure. This will allow a safeguard in case of flight or traffic delays.

***Note: Cruise ships rarely wait for passengers past the scheduled departure time.***

LANGUAGE: Cruises departing from the U.S. employ crew members from all around the world, so it’s likely that non-English speakers will be able to find someone who speaks their language – or is at least familiar with it. However, most employees speak English.

MONEY/CURRENCY (CREDIT CARDS, DEBIT CARDS, TIPPING, ATMS): Rarely will cash be accepted onboard your cruise ship. Therefore, a credit/debit card will be needed to charge to your onboard account. If you prefer not to use a credit/debit card, then you may deposit cash with the onboard customer service. Any remaining cash you have in your account at the end of the cruise will be refunded to you.

ELECTRICITY: Cruise ships typically uses type A and type B plugs operating on 120V supply voltage and 60Hz. However, it may vary from ship to ship. Be sure to check with your travel advisor before your trip. Outlets are very limited in your stateroom.

TYPICAL CRUISING SEASON: The typical cruising season for Caribbean cruises is actually year-round. Spring Break and June through August are peak times, while December through mid-April are the coolest and driest months to cruise.
